UNM Israel Alliance

The Israel Alliance, with cosponsorship from Hillel, is most fortunate to have as its next speaker, Peter Pabisch, University of New Mexico Professor of German and German Studies of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. His colleague, Richard Bakal, writes of Professor Pabisch, “His life is that of the proverbial Renaissance man – he is a scholar, linguist, artist, poet and political analyst.”

Many illustrious Jews spent large potions of their careers in Vienna. This list is headed by Sigmund Freud, Theodore Herzl, Gustave Mahler, and Martin Buber. The Israel Alliance believes that Vienna born Professor Pabisch is ideally suited to speak on this interesting and important subject.

Sgt. Anthony is a veteran IDF combat soldier and the founder of “Our Soldiers Speak“. Specializing as a heavy machine gunner, he played an active role in some of Israel’s more recent operations to defend her citizens from terror. Sgt. Anthony shares his first-hand insight into the humanity of Israel’s soldiers, the decisions they take in the time of war and the moral code to which they adhere. He has spoken at numerous universities including Yale, Columbia, Emory, USC, University of Delaware, Fairleigh Dickinson, University of Maryland, and San Jose State University. All questions, however controversial, will be addressed.
